Code division multiple access (CDMA)

Code division multiple access (CDMA) is a form of multiplexing (not a modulation scheme) and a method of multiple access that does not divide up the channel by time (as in TDMA), or frequency (as in FDMA), but instead encodes data with a certain code associated with a channel and uses the constructive interference properties of the signal medium to perform the multiplexing. CDMA also refers to digital cellular telephony systems that make use of this multiple access scheme, such as those pioneered by Qualcomm, or W-CDMA.

CDMA is a military technology first used during World War II by English allies to foil German attempts at jamming transmissions. The allies decided to transmit over several frequencies, instead of one, making it difficult for the Germans to pick up the complete signal. Because Qualcomm created communications chips for CDMA technology, it was privy to the classified information. Once the information became public, Qualcomm claimed patents on the technology and became the first to commercialize it. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

GET KNOWLEDGE ON GENERAL PACKET RADIO SERVICE (GPRS)

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a mobile data service available to users of GSM mobile phones. It is often described as "2.5G", that is, a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony. It provides moderate speed data transfer, by using unused TDMA channels in the GSM network. Originally there was some thought to extend GPRS to cover other standards, but instead those networks are being converted to use the GSM standard, so that is the only kind of network where GPRS is in use. GPRS is integrated into GSM standards releases starting with Release 97 and onwards. First it was standardised by ETSI but now that effort has been handed onto the 3GPP Click here for more

Dont Make Technical Issues to be story

Engineer faces the music over building scandal

Some of us Engineers does what they don’t know and makes strange like what happened at Chang’ombe Village Hotel. But may be is just for those lazy/ignorant engineers who don’t care about their technical working principals.
Read this…………..
The Prime Minister, Edward Lowassa, has suspended the Temeke Municipal Engineer, Ayubu Bahati, for turning a blind eye to a construction project of a four-storey building that collapsed on Friday.

The developer didn’t have the requisite documents for the project, which was undertaken shoddily, thereby posing grave risks to the would-be occupiers upon completion.

Part of the ground floor served as a bar in which some patrons were having recreation, and from which most fled to safety upon sensing trouble, as well as heeding loud, desperate messages from outside, that the building was collapsing.

Some bodies have been recovered from the rubble and a yet to be specified number of people are feared to have died in the wake of the incident that shocked many residents of Dar es Salaam and beyond.

Speaking at the site yesterday, the visibly angry and upset PM announced: ’’I am suspending the municipal engineer immediately, until further notice.’’

As he spoke, Lowassa pointed a finger at the engineer, who was placed under police custody shortly afterwards, alongside Temeke Municipal Director Iddi Nyundo.

The pair will be questioned on the project, an annex of the Chang’ombe Village Hotel.

Besides the dead and injured, the incident has produced at least one psychological victim one Mama Massawe, wife of the owner of the ill-fated building.

She collapsed from shock after learning that her husband’s building had collapsed, and has been admitted to St. Bernard Hospital in the city for treatment.
